The first North American open qualifier for the Americas Minor came to an end on Sunday, with Lazarus and TeamOne claiming spots in the closed bracket.
The ESL Pro League team, who took part in the qualifier with two stand-ins, Canadian duo Pujan "FNS" Mehta and Tyson "TenZ" Ngo, swept through the tournament and only once let an opponent reach double digits, sealing a top-two finish with a 2-0 win over MDL side The Quest.
It was quite a different story for TeamOne, who were properly tested in the single-elimination bracket and even stood on the brink of elimination in the quarter-final clash against Skyler "Relyks" Weaver' New Identity before scraping a 22-20 victory.
Zellsis' Lazarus move on to the closed bracket
The Brazilian side - who have been in impressive form in ESEA MDL, in which they stand undefeated after six matches - went on defeat GGPR in two maps, the second of which went to overtime, to secure a spot in the next stage.
NRG, Cloud9 and FURIA are some of the other teams confirmed for the closed qualifier, which will run from June 12-14. The top six teams from this double-elimination bracket will be joined by two teams coming out of the South American qualifier at the Americas Minor, scheduled for July 17-21.
